Help support youth outdoor education in Maine!
Hooked on Fishing - Not on Drugs program (HOFNOD) is one of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's most active youth educational programs. With this program we are able to promote family togetherness through fishing within the State of Maine. The program offers training for adult volunteer mentors and provides equipment and materials to support learn to fish events throughout Maine. The program is funded by donations and the support of dedicated volunteers.
Camp North Woods is an overnight camp for youth to learn lifelong outdoor skills as well as the importance of sustaining Maine's natural resources. Camp North Woods is hosted by the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond. Campers receive instruction from and are mentored by staff from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and wildlife and staff from Bryant Pond. The week is filled with hands-on experiences in a variety of outdoor activities. Donations to the program help support scholarships for Maine resident campers.
